PH Outdoors Crimper

The PH Outdoors CRIMPER is the perfect tool for wildlife managers wanting to mechanical kill or terminate cover crops without the use of expensive chemicals.  Using the CRIMPER will preserve soil moisture, prevent weed growth and the terminated cover crop adds a layer of organic, slow release fertilizer at the surface of the soil where new crops can absorb the nutrients.The Crimper rolls over the cover crop, pressing it down, while the fins will crimp the cover crop plant in multiple places.  This effectively cuts off the circulatory system of the plant, causing it to die.  The Crimper also lays the cover crop down flat on the ground, acting as a ‘weed protection mat’ and preventing sunlight from drying the soil.  When the CRIMPER is used in addition to the PH Outdoors G-Series no till drill, wildlife managers can plant into their crimped and rolled cover crop, saving time, fuel, soil compaction is minimal and ultimately have enhanced soil.

CRIMPER 6′, 8′, and 10′ 3-Point

The standard 3-point Crimper comes in 6ft, 8ft, and 10ft widths. Unlike some of our competitors, that number is the actual working width of the implement.  Weight is a key factor when crimping cover crops so the Crimper has been properly engineered to not only terminate the plants effectively, but also to last a long time.

 

CRIMPER 4′ Tow-Behind

Whether you want the convenience of using a UTV, or just don’t have a tractor suitable for a larger Crimper, the 4′ tow behind in the perfect choice.  The Crimper 4′ is built to the same standards as our 3-point units, but can be towed by any UTV or small tractor and is easily managed by one person in the field when flipping the unit from transport mode to crimping mode.
